Birmingham v Berlin: Match Preview

Posted by: r2k

Last night, Birmingham Salvo stormed the London Mint in a major blowout of 27-14. Salvo move on to the Overall Final of the UK/EU regions where they will play again the powerhouse that is the Berlin Allianz who only just got by the Stockholm Magnetik by one single point with the game ending 21-20.

So whos going to win? Here are my quick preview and predictions of this game.

I'm sure Bazza is very happy, not only by beating ChrisyB, but making me look like a fool in my predicitions! Nevertheless Bazza has finally achieved what hes been wanting to do for ages and on the Big Grand Stage of all places. Now his next opponent is the CGS veteran Manyna who showed everyone last night that even at the 90th + stoppage time of Fifa you always can score and he did just that to Stockholm's IstvaN. This should be a really intense and open game as both have settled into the CGS format and will love to prove who is the first overall European champion.

Prediction: 2-1 to Bazza

Talking about another intense match-up, we have argurably, if not the 4 fastest racers in the whole of Europe. Both teams infact managed to get 2nd and 3rd places against their opponents last night. The track is announced and it will be Test Track Diamondback. All I can say is be prepared for this game, it will be nuts!

Prediction: 4-3 (1st - Yggdrasil, 2nd - DaveySkills, 3rd - Picaso, 4th - Finpro)

Last night proved to be an astonishing and surprising night for the female DOA4 players. Even though there were some wrong settings that were enabled last night, not sure which settings but Birmingham's Sarah Lou destroyed her sister London's Strobe with a clean 5-0 sweep. In the Continental final I really did expect this to be a close game, thinking that Miss would take it. But hell no, more settings problems again apparently and Liefje took advantage by taking out Miss in a 5-0 sweep. So much of a turn around for Liefje from last year to now. With that said tho and regarding the results, this should be a close game but could be another clean sweep at the same time. CGS Randomness for the win!

Prediction: 5-3 to Sarah Lou

Well to be honest after last night's performance by Birmingham Salvo, they are on fire. Birmingham dominated London 14-4 while Berlin struggled a bit against Stockholm and lost 10-8. The map tonight will be de_dust2 and Salvo will start on Terrorist side. I think everyone will say that Salvo will take this one but I wouldn't underestimate Berlin, these 'under the pressure' situations is what they like and it will add more fuel for them to win.

Prediction: 10-8 to Birmingham Salvo

Both Messy and The Tactical will be wanting to get back into their GM's graces as they lost their matches 5-3 last night. Both players have everything to gain tonight. They also met in the Combine which Messy won to become the European Champion and The Tactical will like to have his redemption tonight on the Big Grand Stage.

Prediction: 5-4 to Messy

Summery
After last night's performances the Berlin Allianz seems to just be settling into the CGS, whilst the Birmingham Salvo have shown their raw strength and determination and already putting a lot of teams in the World Finals on notice. I can't see Salvo losing, but this is the CGS and we've seen results that nobody would of imagined at all. So expect this to be one awesome final.

Overall: Birmingham Salvo 25-22 Berlin Allianz

Hope you like the preview and predictions, please give me your views and scores in comments. They are always welcomed :)

So the one who wins this is one ''step'' higher up in the world final single elimination cup? Am I right or completly wrong?

Good predictions imo, but I'm leaning more to a DoA-F W for Berlin.
