Ricochet's Memories of 2007

So it's the end of 2007 and I've taken some time to take a quick look back at everything to do with CGS this year, from the combine and draft to competing in LA with everyone. All the following are my views and my memories, so if I forget anything I'm sorry!!!

So the combine, in short this was probably the most nervous I've ever been, since a lot was on the line. I learnt a lot and met a lot of new friends. I think everyone learnt a lot whilst they were there. it was the first time I met Livia, Sujoy and many others, although I knew most of them before hand. I thoroughly enjoyed it and loved my time in Birmingham. Whilst in Birmingham we had shoots to do. Being a black belt, they took me to a hall and did some things there with the other girls.
Onto London, the draft and finals.
London was great fun; everyone that went there I would say was supportive of each other. The finals before the draft gave us the chance to play on stage and get used to it, at first it was daunting and it took quite some getting used to, but it was quite a sight to behold. After the finals, we had the draft, and to be honest I think at this point everyone was anxious and everyone was silent and listening intently. When ODEE drafted me I was shocked, especially to be drafted at the first DOA4 Female, I'm so thankful to ODEE and I hope I've not let him down. I was happy to be on Salvo, and meeting the guys I knew I was going to like the team, they were all so supportive. The UK championships didn't go our way, but we all recovered and supported each other. We knew we had to move on and progress rather than dwell on the past.

The World Finals in LA
Now this was insane. The stage was so much larger than the UK Championships and it really brought home what we were playing for; ourselves, our team, our friends and family back home, and our country, it was such a dream come true.
The media training was good and very informative. Some entertaining and very good interviews too! I beat Tactical at rock paper and scissors so didn't have to do one. Our team practiced hard, relaxed with everyone, supported each other and enjoyed ourselves. Placing 3rd/4th I thought was good and I was happy to be a lot less nervous on stage at the end of it all. We've all gained experience and had a memorable time that we won't forget.
I have to say something I'll remember will be Heaton running into a lamp post! I wish I could've seen it. Next time you do something like that please tell some to film it Emil! Leaving LA was not so nice. I knew I was going to miss everyone and I do. I miss staying with Mystik and Leifje and seeing everyone. I miss the offline practice with everyone. I think everyone improved loads in LA.
It was good to be home but I miss everyone loads!! For now, it's time to play and continue to practice and play hard. Here's to 2008. Here's to my team! Salvo forever!
