Salvo - Under The Mask

Salvo members Sam 'RattlesnK' Gawn and Michael 'Bazza' Barrett attended the Under the Mask conference at the University of Bedfordshire along with former team mate Samantha 'Ricochet' Whale.

"The 'Under the Mask: Perspectives on the Gamer' will be held on Saturday June 7th 2008 at the University of Bedfordshire.

Under the Mask is a one day conference focusing upon the multi-faceted issue of the gamer; culturally, socially, psychologically, professionally, the list of masks worn by the player is endless. This conference aims to penetrate that mask, investigating why it is worn, how it is used, and how it is constructed by gaming culture, game developers, and by the players.

There will be a full programme of papers from academics working in the field.

'Under the Mask' will also provide a unique opportunity to play, watch and make games amongst fellow gamers."

The conference started on Saturday at 9am with several conferences, presentations, demonstations and discussions on the multiple facets of the (professional) gamer. RattlesnK and Bazza was at the conference playing games, doing shootouts and talk to the public, students and lecturers about their lives as a professional gamer.
