Salvo Quick Fire! #2

Have you ever wondered what the players get up to on their free time or when they are about to play? In this new weekly feature leading up to the finals a question is asked to all the players and you get their views on what the specific topic is.
Music Tastes
The majority of the world and especially gamers love their music to get them pumping and ready or even to just chill out before any type of event. But music is so vast with different styles, such as Rap, R&B, Pop, Rock, Classical, Soundtrack, Drum & Bass and so forth. In the previous question some of the players listen to music before they play so....
The question to players this week is this:
What type of music do you listen to before a match and why? However if you don't listen to music before a match, what music do you listen to generally and why?
Bazza: If I am going to listen to music before a match, then it will usually just be chilled out Indie music to keep me relaxed and focused. This is what I listen to mostly, although I do listen to a fair bit of Drum n Bass aswell, just depends how im feeling to be honest. I will listen to any sort of music, I can like a lot of different genres, but I prefer Indie as its chilled out aswell as Drum n Bass because its decent to listen to when your out and about.
DaveySkills: I personally don't listen to music before a match, I just like to sit an chill with some people. Generally I'll listen to all sorts of music ranging from Dance to Hip-Hop to rock an pretty much everything inbetween. The only style of music that I find difficult to listen to is Country. My all time favourite bands are Interpol, Pink Floyd and Radiohead. At the minute I like listening to the Pigeon Detectives and the Black Kids amongst many others.
Mangiacapra: As this is a quickfire question and the band I will name doesn't need a reason why I will keep this short and simple.
The Stone Roses.
MESSY: I don't listen to music before a match. However if I feel like it, I'll listen to some Pop or Rock, just to get a little bit excited before the match.
Picaso: I listen to all kinds of music. Maybe I'll take my guitar to LA and play that
before a match or I would listen to some Indie/Rock before a match, maybe even some club oldies from my youth. It's important to listen to the right kind of music that would get you in the mood for that certain situation.
pt: Hmm, I don't really listen to any music before I play a game. But if I am on deathmatch or practicing my aim or something I will listen to some music and turn the ingame sound off. I would mostly listen to the radio, maybe Radio One or some sort of Rock/Dance music depending on the mood really.
RattlesnK: I don’t tend to listen to music specifically before a match but generally I’m up for most types of music apart from Rap, it just depends on my mood. At the moment if I do want to listen to any music I tend to just turn on the hi-fi and listen to a bit of Radio One, gotta love the chart show with Fearne and Reggie on a Sunday afternoon. Other than that I listen to Dance music to get me going before a night out on the town.
Sarah Lou: I don't normally listen to music before matches but when I do I enjoy listening to Electro, House and Dance. I have a open mind and will pretty much listen to all music as long as it isnt Heavy Metal!
wez: It all depends on where I am, if I’m driving or playing CS I love to listen to really Heavy music realllyyyy loud! If I’m trying to sleep or just chilling I’ll listen to softer Acoustic stuff normally. Fast, Heavy music really gets me in the mood for CS and I always listen to it when I’m on aim maps/deathmatch to kinda keep me interested! My favourite bands at the moment are Alexisonfire and Fightstar but i'll listen to most music as long as its not grime or something awful like that!
wilzOOO: I have one of the broadest tastes in music, so i will pretty much listen to anything before I start playing. I tend to just take my iPod to events with me and put the songs on shuffle, so at one minute it could be a bit of Elvis, the next Metallica.
I find that instead of music that gets you 'pumped up' for a big game, it's better to play some music that chills you out. You don't wanna just be running around doing stupid stuff because your pumped on death metal!
Thank you to the players this week.
If you have a question for the Pro Players of the Birmingham Salvo then please leave message in the Salvo forums with the question that you want asking, maybe it will get asked depending on how good it is or not.
